DUI expresses deep concern over systemic discrimination against albanians in the Public Revenue Office
The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) expresses deep concern and indignation over the recent results of internal competitions within the Public Revenue Office, which once again reveal systemic discrimination against Albanians in the institutions of the state.
In the internal competition held on February 26, 2025, 26 Macedonian employees were promoted, while not a single Albanian was included. Furthermore, in the May 16 competition, out of 41 promotions, 40 were Macedonians and only one was an Albanian. These numbers are not coincidental; they represent a deliberate exclusion of Albanians from public administration, which violates the Constitution, the Law on the Use of Languages, and the principles of fair representation.
This practice is an alarming indicator of a return to old discriminatory policies, undermining coexistence and the multiethnic character of the state.
“We call on the Government to urgently explain how such ethnic disparities are still occurring in 2025, in a country aspiring to join the European Union, and how they can happen without shame or accountability,” the statement reads.
BDI firmly states it will not remain silent in the face of these injustices and will take all necessary political and legal measures to stop this institutional degradation of Albanians.
The party also calls on the international community to closely monitor these trends, which could lead to serious violations of interethnic balance and democratic stability in the country.
